Birthday and scheduled store credit.
Birthday rewards are the nicest email a customer gets all year, and the one most stores forget to send. Stork credits a group of customers on a date or a repeating cycle, so birthdays, anniversaries and monthly VIP drops just happen.
- Any Shopify segment, list or customer query
- Daily, weekly, monthly or yearly repeats
- Rolls birthdays forward so nobody's paid twice
Scheduled Stork Credit walkthrough
What it does.
- Credit on a date. Pick a start date, time and timezone. Run it once, or repeat every so many days, weeks, months or years. The time holds through daylight saving.
- Target exactly who you mean. A Shopify customer segment, a hand-picked list, all customers, or a customer query like
customer_tags CONTAINS 'vip' AND amount_spent >= 500. The audience is worked out fresh on every run. - Birthdays and anniversaries. A query like
anniversary(date: 'metafields.facts.birth_date') = todayon a daily repeat credits everyone on their day. - No double birthdays. After issuing, Stork can roll the customer's date forward 12 months or clear it, so they match again next year and not tomorrow.
- Expiry and email. Set credit to expire, say 30 days after it lands. Shopify's store credit email goes out by default, or send your own branded Store Credit Alert.
- Safe runs. Each run credits up to 10,000 customers. A bigger audience fails without crediting anyone, rather than paying a random subset.
Who it's for.
You collect birthdays
Already storing a birth date on customers? Turn it into $10 of credit on the day, with a 30-day expiry so it gets spent.
You reward your best
A monthly credit drop for your VIP segment keeps them coming back, and new VIPs are picked up automatically.
You plan ahead
Queue credit to land on a big day, like Black Friday morning, then forget about it.
Credit lands as native Shopify store credit in each customer's own account. Birthdays come from a Shopify customer metafield, and audiences come from your own Shopify segments.

Scheduled credit questions.
How do I give customers store credit on their birthday in Shopify?
Store each customer's birth date in a customer metafield with a date-type metafield definition. Then create a scheduled automation in Stork with the customer query
anniversary(date: 'metafields.facts.birth_date') = today, repeat it daily, and set After issuing to roll the date forward 12 months.Where do customers' birthdays come from?
From a Shopify customer metafield. Anything that writes to it works: a field on your account or sign-up form, an app, or an import. Shopify needs a metafield definition (type date) before the field can be used in a query.
Can scheduled store credit go to a Shopify customer segment?
Yes. Pick any saved segment. Membership is checked fresh on every run, so a repeating rule automatically includes customers who joined the segment since last time.
How many customers can one scheduled run credit?
Up to 10,000. If the audience is bigger, the run fails without crediting anyone so you never pay half a list. Narrow the audience, or split it across rules. For bigger one-off drops, use a CSV import.
Which Stork Credit plans include scheduled credit?
Grow ($20/month) and Unlimited ($60/month). On Free, scheduled automations are greyed out in the Add automation picker.
